Speaking for the first time, Daybell’s five adult children — Emma Murray, Garth Daybell, Seth Daybell, Leah Murphy and Mark Daybell — all insisted their father is innocent. “It’s just not possible,” Mark told “48 Hours.”
Instead, Daybell’s children believe he was framed by Vallow and her late brother, Alex Cox — who shot and killed his sister’s ex-husband, Charles Vallow, during a confrontation in July 2019, in what he claimed was self-defense. Tylee Ryan and Joshua Vallow’s mutilated remains were found buried in Chad Daybell’s backyard.

Who are the Daybell children?
The five — Mark, Garth and Seth Daybell, Leah Murphy and Emma Murray — are the children of Daybell and his first wife, Tammy, who died at home on Oct. 19, 2019. She was 49 years old at the time of her sudden collapse.

The grown children of Chad Daybell say they believe he was framed for the murders of his new wife’s children — and they offered as evidence his skill as a grave-digger.
Tammy Daybell’s body was exhumed in December 2019 when Chad Daybell came under suspicion. The results of the coroner’s investigation have not been publicly released, but the children told the interviewer that they were told the cause was asphyxiation.
The prosecution of Lori Daybell is on hold while her mental health is evaluated. A judge this week extended her commitment in a psychiatric facility.
